Less than a week left in Korea and I’m starting to freak out a little bit!

People have been asking me for weeks, “When exactly are you moving?” And I laugh and say, “Oh, I don’t know. We’re still waiting on [insert the item of the week here].”

It’s been really hard to mentally prepare ourselves to leave Korea. We know we are leaving, yet none of it has seemed real. Today we had our first glimpse at reality when we got word that we are definitely leaving Korea on June 4th… next week. With only 5 days to spare, our tickets have now been booked.

I’ve already said a lot of goodbyes, we have all of our packing sorted and now we are just waiting to start a new chapter in our lives. It’s our first big move together and we are absolutely beyond excited.

Korea will always hold a very special place in my heart. It’s shaped who I am as a person, lead me to the man I love and has been an amazing second home to me for the past four years. Since I moved away from the US, I have traveled to 12 different countries and traveled all over South Korea. I’ve seen, done and experienced so many things that I never would have imagined possible.

There are countless things about Korea that I will miss.  We have been fortunate enough to be able to road trip across of a lot of the country… I’m always blown away at how beautiful Korea can be if you just take the time to venture out of the big cities! And my heart melts every time I visit one of Korea’s million quirky places (toilet museum, penis restaurant, upside down house… just to name a few!).

Above all else I’m going to miss the friends from all over the world that I’ve met along the way and all of the amazing Korean food that no where else will ever do justice.

3 more days … after an incredible 4 years.
I’m curious about what you will do with your blog?

  3. Oh guys. So sad to know you already left Korea! I’m heading there in less than 1 month. I’m super excited about going there and checking out your blog posts about Seoul! 🙂
