Dave and I just had our 2 year anniversary and to celebrate we decided to use some of our Hyatt Gold Passport points and book a room at the Park Hyatt Maldives Hadahaa. The weather hasn’t been great because there’s a cyclone brewing near India, but it’s still gorgeous here! This is a shot from the sunrise this morning at the beach in front of our pool villa.
I have a confession to make. We planned a trip to Taipei, Taiwan for the sole purpose of experiencing EVA Air’s Hello Kitty jet. A friend of mine shared an article about it on her Facebook sometime last year and it immediately went onto my bucket list. I can’t say I’m a die hard Hello Kitty fan, but I appreciate cute when I see it and this is cute!
I’m writing this from Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea. Dave and I are heading to Taipei, Taiwan for a long weekend and we are about to board one of the world’s cutest planes! It’s a Hello Kitty plane. Even the boarding passes have the cute little Sanrio diva on them.
I can’t wait to see what the inside looks like!
It’s been such an amazing week. Dave was off work so we spent a long weekend in Tokyo and then enjoyed the rest of the week relaxing and exploring. Couldn’t have wished for a better week… just sad that it’s come to an end and Dave has to go back to work tomorrow.

I’m working on sorting through my Kyoto photos and stumbled across more photos of maiko (apprentice geisha). As you may know, seeing the maiko was the absolute highlight of my trip so I couldn’t help but share another photo with all of you.
Phuket was amazing… Loved seeing how different Buddhists in Korea look from these Buddhist monks in Thailand.

This will be a very busy week! I am leaving for New York with my mom on Thursday. We are going watch the 4th of July Firewoks, see Annie on Broadway, do some shopping and visit my mom’s best friend in New Jersey. And hopefully catch up with one of my old friends, too. It’ll be a busy trip, but I’m definitely looking forward to it!

Mendi and Melissa’s visit to Korea is coming to an end. It was a really great week and it meant a lot to me to be able to share my Korean life with 2 of my very best friends.
We are all heading back to Texas together today. I hope we have a great flight and get over our jet lag quickly!

Holy heck! I do not know what to say. I spent my first few days on a small island about 40 minutes away by speedboat and today I’m meeting my handsome Australian back on the mainland at The Shore at Katathani Beach Villas on Kata Noi Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Wow, that’s a mouthful!
I am in love with this place. I’ve already seen an elephant and check out our room view. I’m absolutely speechless.
